We are pleased to inform you that special classes will be conducted for the students of class XII during Onam holidays, September 3, 5, & 6, 2011. Attendance is compulsory and students are requested to attend this special class.

 Any effort made by the teachers will bear fruit only if the parents extend their full support and co-operation in every field of education. Parents are expected to co-operate with the school authorities by seeing that their children prepare their lessons and taking an active and helpful interest in the activities of the school.

Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation

What is Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation? (CCE)

Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation refers to a system of school based assessment that covers all aspects of student's development.

It emphasizes on two fold objectives:-

1. Continuity in Evaluation & Assessment of broad based learning.
2. It evaluates behavioural outcome.

Co-scholastic - Life skills, attitude & values and other co-curricular areas. It includes a variety of tools and techniques for the holistic assessment of learners.

Scholastic

Co-Scholastic

Formative Assessment

            Assessment which is carried throughout the year by a teacher formally & informally. It is diagnostic & remedial. It comprises of:-

1.      Class work 2. Homework 3. Oral questions and interviews 4. Quizzes - Conversation Projects // Assignments // Tests.

Summative Assessment

            It is the assessment carried out at the end of a course of instruction. It indicates and measures how much a student has learnt.

What are Life Skills?

Life Skills are the abilities the students need to develop that will help them to be successful in living a productive and successful life. Some of these qualities include

1. Self esteem 2. Communication 3.Confidence 4.Compassion 5.Respect 6. Empathy  and Creative thinking

What are Attitudes and values?

Attitudes reflect an individual's disposition or tendency to respond to a given stimulus (ideas, situation)

Values are ideas and beliefs that one holds as special

The main arms of CCE as envisaged by the CBSE are:-

1. Removes stress on children by reducing the chances of subjectivity and de-emphasising memorisation. Encourage scholastic and co-scholastic aspects of learning.
2. Regular and comprehensive evaluation during instructional periods making it an integral part of learning process.
3. A right tool of diagnosis and remedial work.
4. Implant greater skills in learners.
5. Award grades in place of marks on the basis of students ability and performances.

Students are assessed according to the following grades.

DATE SHEET - FIRST TERM EXAMINATIONS (2011-2012)

We would like to inform you that the Unit Test (Core & Graded) will be commencing from August 17, 2011. On examination days, school buses will ply as usual. Our school closes for Onam vacation on 02-09-2011 and re-opens on 12-09-2011. All students are expected to attend the class on the re-opening day.

N.B:- On the Spot Competition & Exhibition (Std.I to XII) will be held on 13 & 14 September 2011 (Tuesday & Wednesday).

Sub:-   Summative Examination (SA2) March 2012 Class-X

           (Board Based/School Based Examination)

We are pleased to inform you that students who are studying in Class X, the SA2 (Summative Assessment-2) will be conducted as per last year by the C.B.S.E. i.e, Board based examination and School based examination.

Board based examination SA2 is only for the students who would like to move out of the CBSE system after Class-X i.e, who wish to join the boards other than C.B.S.E.  All candidates irrespective of whether appearing for school conducted SA2 or Board conducted SA2 will be issued the same certificate of CCE prepared , printed and signed by the board.  Please inform your choice by putting a tick mark in the appropriate column.  No changes will be entertained later on.  An early response will be highly appreciated.
